  • Yeah, except someone has to write your fucking address book LDAP app now instead of your phone HOOKING INTO AN LDAP SERVER
  • Took less than a person month
  • As opposed to Apple coding in LDAP support
  • Which would probably also take less than a person month knowing the hours Apple engineers keep

  • Well the nice thing about ZFS is that you can add more storage just by adding a new drive

  • oooh - the web inspector is live
  • or avail in safari 3
  • 26x26Dan Dickinson
  • Well, that's a plus, but now there's one problem
  • If Safari 3 is doable in 10.4 - and it's going to be available on XP/Vista - Apple better not try and skip Tiger for the final version
  • Otherwise you're going to have a *lot* of pissy Mac users
  • 11:52am (June 11, 2007) 26x26neps
  • well they had the beta for safari back in the day right?
  • 11:53am (June 11, 2007) 26x26Dan Dickinson
  • Safari 3 doesn't seem to actually require a reboot, it just wants one - I force quit Installer.app and seem to be fine
  • 26x26neps
  • didnt they give a final for that?
  • 26x26Dan Dickinson
  • I think Safari was a freebie that wasnt tied into an OS update
  • Yup - Safari 1.0 is available immediately as a free download at www.apple.com/safari, requires Mac® OS X version 10.2 “Jaguar” and is optimized for Mac OS X v10.2.3 “Jaguar” or later.
  • It was released at WWDC 03 though

  • the menu looks awful
  • 11:58am (June 11, 2007) 26x26Dan Dickinson
  • Leopard brings a quicker way to switch between Mac OS X and Windows: Just choose the new Apple menu item “Restart in Windows.” Your Mac goes into “safe sleep” so that when you return, you’ll be right where you were. It’s much faster than restarting the computer each time.
  • 26x26Tony
  • looks like the dock is going to fall over
  • 26x26Dan Dickinson
  • Likewise, a “Restart in Mac OS X” menu item in the Boot Camp System Tray in Windows makes for a faster return to Mac OS X. With Windows hibernation enabled, you can pick up where you left off.
  • 26x26Tony
  • wow, something new
  • 11:59am (June 11, 2007) 26x26neps

  • iCal Availability finder ^^^
  • iChat now does SMS forwarding
  • Now you can save your audio and video chats for posterity with iChat recording. Before recording starts, iChat notifies your buddies and asks for their permission to record. When you’re done chatting, iChat stores your audio chats as AAC files and video chats as MPEG-4 files so you can play them in iTunes or QuickTime.
